Significance of Singur.

Singur is hot, in more than one way, you will perceive the heat whatever be the perspective, true Singur may come to a very timid end with the Tatas in their usual style create another Jamshedpur or it could be the beginning of an explosion, It is not for me to speculate on the outcome, my interest lies in asking the question why Singur? Why now and does it showcase any lessons? Did we learn them?

For me Singur is not as portrayed by the liberal media an anti-industrial mob fury in the heart of WB, It has in fact more hidden actors, directors and scriptwriters than the actual actors namely mamta Banerjee and the Jamaats. Unfortunately I cant agree with Mr Tata regards a conspiracy against him by other Industry magnates, though I would agree to most other things that he would say. I see his point that under the current circumstances when he does not know who his enemies are or his friends are he does what everybody does when under the circumstances create mythical demons and search for them and try hiding behind them until the smokescreen clears to reveal the real ones.

The Singur chapter might close, but the lessons are learnt and hard ones and the real heat is not on the Tatas, but on our friendly nationalist traitors the Indian socialist turned communist turned socialist.

The Indian communist is an endangered species, but that’s not the problem, the problem is he knows it and then the others know it and he knows that the others know it. But that’s half the problem the other half is all parties pretend as if they know nothing, and believe me that’s what scares the communist to his core. You can actually imagine the predicament by putting yourself in their shoes its quite that simple.

In your office send out a spam mail to all your collegues, in the beginning you believe that they don’t know who it was, you have an air of invincibility, later you get to know that an investigation was on and they did suspect you, shakes you a bit but your invincibility factor rises as you believe that they don’t have proof, a bit later someone drops a hint that in fact they really know it was you and now you are in this continous state of I know I did it, they know I did it, I know that they know and they know that I know that they know, this is infact a very unstable state you are always under pressure because of an expectation of getting fired, but surprisingly it didn’t happen, and then the management in fact starts acting as if they know nothing at all and this is the scariest part of all because all your logical paths of action are shut but two factors continue to play your mind, the fear of the unknown (Fear of the known can be quantified and handled) and the uncertainty factor that you don’t know how to mitigate.

The communist is currently in the last category so is the Congress party and so is the BJP ( a bit on that later) . Coming back to Singur, things look more interesting because look at the case of it.

The Tatas want to build a Car making unit, for their 1 lakh rupee car, a pretty noble idea indeed they choose WB after East Bengal (oops sorry Bangladesh booted them out), they choose Singur in WB . Why they choose a potentially backward state which has no hope of progress among 25 states in India is a question that only Tatas and the WB government can answer, whats there in Singur that’s not available in TN (The heartland of the auto industry) or any other progressive states?

Our hidden scriptwriters and directors who are orchestrated this movement have been asking this question, BUT not in the way that you think, they are NOT asking for a probe because there was an evidence of corruption, they are not asking for a probe because there was evidence of kickbacks, they are not asking for a probe because the intended rehabilitation did not reach the recipients, with Tatas and their track records nobody ever asks such questions.

That is the reason why the issue is not about the Tatas at all, its an issue that has more to do with the Communists themselves and that is why this issue is very important to be analysed by every concerned citizen of this country.

Look at the Communists who have ruled Bengal from the days of its glory to its currently ruinous state today, they share power at the center too, the surprise element to this whole sordid drama is evident because sitting in power in Delhi and Kolkata they are not in a position to control this event, which under normal circumstances (by normal I mean completely Stalinist or maoist circumstances) should have been a cake walk for the communist by simply sending away the land owners and other opposing parties to the Gulag and closing the chapter.

Then who is/are these hidden directors who are blowing up this issue to these proportions? A good question but no, I will not point you to them but I can definitely direct your think to eliminate the usual suspects and then ask you to guess.

One,Who would oppose this deal, Tatas are a friend of every political party including the commies.
Two the Congress is in a hopeless position in WB and they don’t want to upset their apple cart in Delhi by making a case against them in Kolkata, they don’t have the will neither do they have the capability.
Three the BJP continues to grope in the dark, they really don’t know where they are going, actually they don’t know where they want to go so by taking on the communists in Kolkata has no gains.
Mamta Banerjee, who? The actual actress in this drama, might have a personal and political card to play but does she have the might? Her Gandhian dramatics played out quite well but today Gandhian dramatics can win in movies only. To me she actually is a pawn in this great game.

So who are the opposers? Taking a cue from Mr.Tata, lets speculate that vested business interests that are opposed to the Tatas are behind this, but who would be hurt if the Tatas were to build a Rs 1 lakh car? The marutis? The Mahindras? The other Korean automakers? In fact none there are cars at 3 lacs so are cars at 13 and both sell to their respective segments and Merc will always be a Merc and people will still buy it even if tatas do make their 1 lakh rupee car!!.
The next usual suspect is the two wheeler makers who believe that their market will be eroded by a 1 lakh car, they tend to lose, but they know a fact that once prosperity reaches the public they will tend to move up the value chain and this is a very basic lesson in economics.
The other biggest loser could be the chief of India Inc Mr Bajaj, because if the car becomes successful, then it becomes a taxi, that could put the “auto rickshaw” the bread and butter of the Bajaj group out of our roads for good. A plausible theory but falls flat when we ask do the Bajajs have the ability to sustain a fight? Simply NO.
The last suspect is the people of Singur, who would lose their lands and along with it their livelihoods, but Jamshedpur shows how a loss in land is made up in development and Singurians will definitely know, the Commies will never take them where the Tatas will take them towards development and better lives

So who are these actors? are we anywhere near them? Or are we still groping in the dark
Not anymore, actually the biggest loser if this deal comes through is the hardcore communist, surprised? Because economic prosperity is the biggest threat to the communist, Islamist and the socialist and in that order.

Now you ask why the communist is trying to commit suicide? Thats the biggest riddle so far, but not anymore, The communist party is made up of two parts, the hardcore communist and the middleclass communist, the hard core communist survives on poverty and more poverty while the middle class communists expects personally to be rich and others to be poor, both of them have emerged as losers as prosperity has caught up thick and fast in the west and south and to an extent in the north, their significance has significantly eroded over years and their once extolled superiority has been a joke simply put the Bengali and WB is is dropping off Indias landscape (Bangladesh has long ago fallen off the world map).

The middleclass Bengali is shaken badly and tries to put the house back in order by these projects, but the hardcore communist sees this as a threat and this is the proxy war and these are the real actors.

Simply put the middleclass communist wants to move to the right ( I mean a bit left of center) that is gravitate towards a kind of awkward socialism and the hard code communists wants to move further left (Of what kind I leave it to your imagination) both of them are good moves because the congress too moves sometimes to the left of center and the right of center as it suits it.

Either way the fight is good because we have to change the status quo in WB so that we start moving I hope the middle class communist will prevail over the hard core jihadi communist for the good of all of us.

Its not important as to who wins or loses, because when outsiders could not move the commies the change came from within, purges like these are good because it hastens the death of the communist monster and mercy death to communism is preferable to both the patients(communists) and their relatives ( we the non communists).

Long live Singur.
